About

Shaun is a highly skilled and qualified Brick and Blocklayer with extensive experience in the construction industry. He is also versed in being Site Foreman and Building Co-ordinator.

His career began with 'La Spina Trabucco & Co Pty Ltd', a major brick and blocklaying subcontracting company in Brisbane led by Directors Alfio La Spina and Frank Trabucco.

The company worked on large-scale projects completing brick and blockwork, for major builders such as Hutchinson Builders, Mirvac Developments, John Holland, Cavcorp, and Pidgeon just to name a few. The same Directors ran 'SRC Bricklaying & Landscaping' and also a development company called 'Laputa Pty Ltd', which focused on overseeing and delivering residential and commercial projects such as Units & Townhouses.

After Mr. Trabucco retired, Mr Alfio La Spina established his own building company, La Spina Build Pty Ltd, with Shaun taking on the responsibility of running the company’s building projects from that point forward. During his time with these companies, Shaun developed his craft on high-profile commercial and residential projects, refining his technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to work within large-scale construction environments. His dedication and growing skill set quickly earned him more responsibilities beyond masonry, paving the way for his transition into project management and broader construction roles.

Initially, Shaun honed his bricklaying and blocklaying expertise on significant Brisbane developments, including:

  • Gasworks Complex - Newstead

  • West Village Apartments, West End, Brisbane

  • Enoggera Army Barracks

  • Lucent - 18 Longland St, Newstead

As he gained valuable experience, Shaun transitioned into Laputa Pty Ltd, the company’s building and development arm, where he worked as Second-in-Charge to the Directors.

Laputa Developments – Unit & Townhouse Construction

This role provided him with the opportunity to oversee the full lifecycle of unit and townhouse developments, refining the project management skills necessary to manage projects from inception to completion.
